BALTIMORE, MD—A powerful cold front is expected to sweep through the Baltimore and Washington regions Wednesday afternoon and evening, bringing severe thunderstorms and bringing a sudden end to recent record-breaking heat, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters issued a hazardous weather outlook early Wednesday morning warning residents along the Interstate 95 corridor, the District of Columbia, and the tidal waters of Maryland and northern Virginia to prepare for potentially dangerous conditions. The scattered severe storms moving into the area are capable of producing damaging winds and large hail.
