St. Louis police demand millions more from city in court battle

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A battle over public safety funding reached a courtroom Tuesday as the St. Louis Police Department demanded tens of millions of dollars more from the city.

The attorney for the Board of Police Commissioners argued the city owes the police $67 million more than what the city had previously committed to giving them.

“That is the appropriation and it’s set by statute from now until the end of time, so judge we are asking you to compel the city to do this appropriation necessary to run this police department,” said Chris Graville, attorney for the Board of Police Commissioners…
