Originally from the Eastern European country of Moldova, the Shevchenkos have combined their international background with serious baking and pastry chops to offer a curated selection of treats from around the globe.
People have taken notice. The WOD truck has sold a lot of tiramisu and crème brûlée, but there’s one item that in-the-know fans look for: The macarons. Anastasia admits that she climbed a step learning curve to master the finicky French cookie.
“They do not only require baking skills, but they also require a specific temperature in the room, and a specific kind of oven,” she says. “I had to readjust the temperatures. I had to experiment. It took me over a year, and I cannot tell you how many batches went to the trash.”…
