Dayton VA awarded 5-star rating in CMS quality report

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton VA announced on Wednesday, May 20, that it received a five-star rating in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ annual hospital quality report.

Nationwide, 78 percent of VA hospitals received a rating of four or five stars in 2026, marking the fourth consecutive year that the VA has outperformed non-VA care. It is also the second year in a row that no VA hospital received a one-star rating.

“Receiving a five-star rating from CMS is a reflection of the dedication our entire team brings to caring for veterans every day,” said Dr. Jennifer DeFrancesco, director of the Dayton VA. “This rating underscores our commitment to delivering safe, timely, and high-quality care, and we are proud to contribute to VA’s continued nationwide excellence.”…
