Four Upstate bridges replaced after Hurricane Helene damage: SCDOT

SOUTH CAROLINA (WSPA) – Hurricane Helene recovery continues with the reopening of multiple bridges in two Upstate counties after SCDOT said they were severely damaged by the storm.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) said in the weeks after Hurricane Helene, crews found four bridges in Spartanburg and Greenville counties needing “emergency bridge replacements.”

The bridge in Spartanburg County runs over the Motlow Creek off New Cut Road.

The other three bridges are in Greenville County:

  • South Hudson Street bridge near Unity Park
  • West Washington Street along the Swamp Rabbit Trail
  • Pedestrian Bridge at Jones Gap State Park
