GREECE, N.Y. (WROC) — With more rainfall expected this weekend, concerns are growing for property owners along the Lake Ontario shoreline.
According to the International Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River Board, water levels on Lake Ontario remain above average. As of the board’s most recent measurement, taken May 19, the lake stood at 247.28 feet — about a foot higher than its historical average.
The board monitors water levels and regulates outflows from Lake Ontario through the St. Lawrence River when conditions allow. Tony David, a U.S. member of the board, said the current levels are relatively normal for this time of year, but erratic weather can make conditions unpredictable…
