Before most development-related decisions go before Fort Worth City Council, the city’s top developers review, discuss and recommend policy changes behind closed doors.
The group’s 25 members are appointed by City Manager Jay Chapa and make up the Development Advisory Committee, commonly called the DAC. Meetings take place once a month in city hall and include listening sessions and city staff presentations on issues going before council members.
Discussions focus on both niche technicalities within the development sphere — such as fees on developers and alleyway requirements — and broader issues like upcoming bond projects, budget planning and infrastructure investments…
