American music legend celebrating 55th anniversary of iconic song on tour

An American folk rock legend is celebrating the 55th anniversary of his biggest hit.

Don McLean, best known for the iconic 1971 song “American Pie,” has more than 30 tour dates scheduled in the U.S. and Australia this year. Upcoming concerts include three New York stops on May 23 at the Suffolk Theater in Riverhead, May 28 at the Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda (near Buffalo) and Nov. 14 at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall (near Albany).
