Collier explodes to beat Lakewood Park

After giving up 36 runs over the weekend in a pair of games, the Adams Central Jets need a pick-me-up.

They got it in the form of an eight-run seventh inning Tuesday night in Auburn, turning a close non-conference game into a blowout 16-6 win in seven full innings.

The highlight of the game for the Jets was a pair of home runs and a triple for Barrett Collier, who finished 3-for-3 with six RBI. He also started the game on the mound, throwing five innings and allowing just one unearned run.

Collier’s three-run homer in the third gave the Jets a 6-2 advantage and when he came back up in the fifth, he homered again, knocking in Penn Shifferly both times…
