High Point City Council unveils proposed budget

HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — High Point city leaders are considering adding a separation allowance for the fire department and a low-income homeowners assistance program to the city’s proposed $535 million budget.

That was discussed at the city council meeting on Wednesday.

According to Stephen Hawryluk, the separation allowance for the fire department will offer employees money after they leave based on their final base pay and years of service.

The other program they are considering is a tax relief assistance for low-income property owners.
