Resident of Lake Sumter Apartments pulled over with smoking pipe in her car

A resident of Lake Sumter Apartments was arrested for a used smoking device found in her car during a traffic stop.

A deputy on patrol stopped a silver Honda Pilot with full windshield tint on County Road 223 in Wildwood around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. He explained the reason for the stop to the driver, 34-year-old Brianna Rene Couture, as a K-9 unit responded to the scene to check for narcotics.

The K-9 then alerted to the vehicle, prompting a search. When asked about her history with narcotics, Couture stated she had used methamphetamines in the past. She added that there should have been nothing in the car, the report said.

However, the deputy discovered a glass smoking device with methamphetamine residue in the center console. There was also a clear dime-sized bag with more residue in a blue purse behind the driver’s seat, the report said…
