Tallahassee man found guilty in 2023 fentanyl death of 3-year-old

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A jury deliberated for about an hour Wednesday before finding Tony Balcom guilty as charged in the 2023 death of three-year-old Enrique Evans.

Balcom was convicted of aggravated manslaughter of a child and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

The toddler’s mother, Cameren Evans, was found guilty of the same charge earlier this year and is serving a 19-year prison sentence.

Little Enrique Evans was found unresponsive in Balcom’s Roberts Avenue apartment back on January 23, 2023.

The medical examiner later discovered the child had ingested a lethal dose of fentanyl, which prosecutors argued Balcom failed to secure in his room…
