BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Construction is officially underway on a major Scenic Highway improvement project in Baton Rouge, in an area right outside of Southern University.
Leaders from the city-parish, DOTD, and Southern University gathered in Scotlandville on Wednesday to break ground on an $8 million enhancement project.
“This is something this community has needed and been asking for a long, long time,” said Mayor-President Sid Edwards. “And to come in here, number one, there’ll be safety upgrades. It’ll be walking paths, bike paths, and overlaying of the roads.
