BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Local and state leaders broke ground on an $8 million improvement project for a major Scotlandville corridor.
The project focuses on the area of Scenic Highway from Harding to Swan. DOTD and MOVEBR are teaming up to redo the roadway, improve sidewalks and traffic signals, and add gates to the railroad crossing.
“We have seen numerous wrecks when people try to beat the railroad tracks and the train coming through, and now, you’re going to see railroad gates right here at each intersection so that builds safety in the community,” Metro Councilman Anthony Kenney said…
