Erie Port Authority launches new master plan for former Erie Coke site

When the Erie Western PA Port Authority bought the former Erie Coke property in 2024, they started developing a vision for the future of the contaminated site off of East Avenue.

Last week, the authority established that vision, with the port authority’s board of directors voting unanimously to adopt the “Master Plan Refresh: A Vision for the Former Erie Coke Site.”

“The acquisition of this property expanded our footprint by over a third, and so that really created new opportunities that we wanted to consider in light of all the different things we have going here along the waterfront,” said Anna Frantz, Deputy Executive Director of the Erie Port Authority.
