Elderly man ambushed in Carson, robbed of $7,000 family heirlooms

A 69‑year‑old man walking home in Carson was violently robbed in broad daylight this week when thieves ambushed him from behind and ripped chains from his neck, leaving him shaken and on the ground.

The May 20 broad daylight robbery occurred in the 600 block of Turmont Street in Carson and was captured on a resident’s security cameras.

Footage shows what appear to be two men in hoodies jumping out of the passenger side of a white four-door sedan. One of the suspects then ran up on the victim, who was completely unaware he was being targeted until it was too late…
