Pawtucket man charged in stabbing on Coventry Greenway

COVENTRY, R.I. (WPRI) — Police have arrested a Pawtucket man accused of stabbing someone in the back on the Coventry Greenway Wednesday evening.

Daniel Vacca, 33, has been charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a knife while committing a crime and assault on a person over the age of 60 causing bodily injury.

Officers were called to the walking trail behind Coventry Town Hall after receiving reports of a stabbing.

Police said officers immediately began tending to a man who suffered a serious puncture wound to the back. The suspect, identified by police as Vacca, also assaulted a woman who was walking with the man who got stabbed…
