Kayaker from Syracuse dies at Elizabethtown’s Lincoln Pond

ELIZABETHTOWN, N.Y. (ABC22/FOX44) – One person died and two others were taken to the hospital after their kayak flipped at Lincoln Pond in Elizabethtown last week.

According to New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation, Essex County 911 got in touch with New York forest rangers and reported two kayakers in distress at about 9:48 p.m. on Friday.

When rangers arrived, they found that three people had been in the kayak, and one was missing. Two people were pulled out of the water, reportedly suffering from hypothermia, and were taken to the nearby Elizabethtown Hospital for treatment.
