TOLEDO, Ohio — Ohioans are being warned to stay alert after a scam surfaced involving fraudulent messages claiming recipients owe unpaid parking or toll fines that must be paid immediately.
According to the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas, the scam involves messages that appear official and may include what looks like a court document along with a QR code directing people to a payment website. Officials say the notices are fake and are not connected to the court system.
