FEMA food shelter funds open in St. Landry Evangeline parishes

Local nonprofit organizations and government agencies in St. Landry and Evangeline parishes are being encouraged to apply for federal Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) funding administered through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The St. Landry-Evangeline United Way will oversee the distribution of the Phase 42 federal funds, which are intended to help expand and supplement existing emergency food and shelter services in both parishes, according to a news release.
