New Affordable-Housing Development Breaks Ground in Tacoma

Bridge Meadows’ latest affordable-housing development has broken ground in Tacoma, the News Tribune confirmed today.

The project, which sits next to Stewart Heights Park, will have 60 residential units. Forty-four spaces are geared toward low-income adults 55 and up, and 16 are reserved for families with adopted children or children who are under kinship care who had once been in the foster system. Construction is expected to be complete in 2027.

Bridge Meadows Tacoma will have between one- and four-bedroom units across three buildings and includes outdoor amenities such as a gathering lawn, a walking path circuit, a central plaza, and garden beds, according to project collaborato Community Development Partners’ website. Fifty percent of the project’s units will be designated for people who make 30% of the Area Median Income, while the other half will be for those making 50% of the AMI…
