A Saturday soaker to kickoff Memorial Day weekend in WNY

The Memorial Day weekend across the Buffalo-Niagara region will kickoff with a Saturday soaker and cooler than average temperatures, before some drier and milder weather moves into Western New York Sunday and Monday.

“Unfortunately rain is going to move into Western New York beginning Saturday morning, and last through most of the day,” National Weather Service meteorologist Heather Kenyon tells WBEN. “It’s going to be a widespread, soaking rain, and the rain will taper off Saturday evening, then it will just turn ‘showery’ through Sunday morning.”

Most areas will get between a half inch to an inch of rainfall, with some spots getting more than an inch of rainfall.
