At approximately 6:45 a.m. Friday, Pinellas County deputies responded to a reported home invasion at 1052 Chandler Drive in unincorporated Clearwater. The homeowner stated an armed male forced entry into her residence. She escaped safely, while the suspect barricaded himself inside.
Deputies arrived on scene and attempted to make contact with the suspect. At about 8:00 a.m., shots were fired, resulting in the suspect being shot. Paramedics from Clearwater Fire and Rescue pronounced him deceased on-site.
