City Council debates Alpharetta’s plan for growth, density

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — How Alpharetta should approach growth dominated discussion as the City Council addressed updates to its comprehensive plan May 18.

Breaking with some members, Councilwoman Katie Reeves said she worries the plan’s survey failed to capture some residents’ concerns, particularly those about growth, density and preserving the community’s character.

“I know this isn’t the popular thing to say, and I know this isn’t the fun thing to say, but this is genuinely what I heard,” Reeves said. “People are really concerned.”…
