RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — More than 100 protesters gathered in downtown Richmond Thursday after Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D) vetoed collective bargaining legislation that labor advocates say would have expanded workers’ rights in Virginia.
“We actually want change — not just systemic change, but change for the people,” said LiUna Labor Organizer Chris Hollis during the protest on Thursday, May 21. “We feel we were cheated out of a collective bargaining bill that should have been the rights for all labor, all workers.”
