Spotty storms today & Saturday

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is a stormy start to the day across the state. While the activity this morning fades away, another batch of showers and storms will get started this evening across central Kansas and then move east tonight into Saturday morning. While some storms will be strong with heavy rain, gusty winds, and small hail, widespread severe weather is not expected.

In between the rounds of rain and storms, skies will clear-out some this afternoon allowing temperatures to climb into the middle to upper 70s, or five to ten degrees warmer than the past few days.

The final wave of showers and storms is expected to move across the state on Saturday afternoon and evening. While a storm or two may be strong with heavy rain and gusty winds, widespread severe weather is unlikely. The remainder of the holiday weekend looks dry and warmer with highs in 80s on Sunday and Memorial Day…
