BALTIMORE, MD (WBFF) — More than half of Baltimore city and county residents surveyed expect to move out of their current neighborhoods within the next three years, according to a new report from Johns Hopkins University.
The survey of 934 city residents and 558 county residents between September and November 2024 found that 42% of city residents want to leave Baltimore, with 27% expecting to stay in Maryland and 15% expecting to leave the state. Of the 58% of residents who said they would stay in the city, 36% expect to remain in their current neighborhoods and 22% expect to move elsewhere in the city. In the county, 66% of residents who expressed a desire to move planned to stay.
