COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – As the school year wraps up and summer break begins in Muscogee County, teachers packed up their classrooms today. Some put things away for a few weeks in anticipation of fall while others packed up for good.
Donna Thomas has about four decades worth of paperwork, posters, keepsakes and memorabilia to pack away. This was her final year at Reese Road Academy.
Her retirement comes this year after 42 years as a teacher in both Muscogee and Harris counties. As her family and friends helped her load up her classroom, Thomas called this time in her life bittersweet…
