Better Business Bureau warns of scam calls pretending to be from ProMedica

TOLEDO, Ohio — The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is warning of an “imposter scam” in which callers claim to be from ProMedica in order to steal money.

According to an alert from the BBB, ProMedica alerted the public that scammers are manipulating their caller IDs to make it look like their phone calls are coming from ProMedica. This tactic is known as spoofing. If you receive a call claiming to be from ProMedica that seems suspicious, you should hang up and call ProMedica using an official communication source, such as the verified number on your invoice, the ProMedica website, or the ProMedica myChart app…
