Wilmington City Council has adopted a Fiscal Year 2027 budget totaling more than $213-million.
How much to allocate toward affordable housing – and where the money should go – took up significant discussion time at Thursday’s meeting.
“We do plan to work with the administration to provide some oversight to make sure that those dollars are going to affordable housing projects,” Council Finance and Economic Development Chair Michelle Harlee said.
