LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The University of Kentucky is moving forward with a major project to help support the future expansion of Chandler Hospital.

The $580 million project will construct a new central utility plant to support the growing hospital campus, according to a news release.
UK President Eli Capilouto said the expansion is needed to help meet healthcare demand across Kentucky.
“To serve the people across our Commonwealth, we must continue to grow,” Capilouto said. “The expansion of Chandler Hospital is essential to meeting the healthcare needs of our state. This project ensures we have the infrastructure in place to make that growth possible and to keep advancing Kentucky.”
