New Orleans man sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to scheme to defraud education department

A New Orleans man has pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges stemming from a scheme to defraud the Louisiana Department of Education, federal court officials announced Wednesday.

Demietriek Scott, 50, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to conduct wire fraud in connection with a plot to obtain Louisiana Child Care Assistance Provider grant funds from the Louisiana Department of Education.
