Ladydogs stun Oklahoma 11-9 on opening day of the Norman super regional, stand one win from first CWS berth

They were up against the most potent offense in college softball, and the Lady Bulldogs gave as good as they got. And, a little more.

Down big in the last two innings, Mississippi State pulled off improbable repeated rallies to stun Oklahoma 11-9 on opening day of the Norman Regional. A bases-loaded single with two outs by leftfielder Tatum Silva was compounded by a throwing error for the two go-ahead runs in the top of Friday’s seventh inning.

Reliever Delainey Everett made the margin hold up, under pressure. A one-out single and close ball-four had a pair on bases for Sooner slugger Kendall Wells, 4-of-4 so far with two home runs and five of Oklahoma’s RBI…
