Hundreds brave rain and wind at Irondequoit 5K to raise more than $30,000 for Sunset House end-of-life care

IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. — Runners endured rain and wind to take part in the Sunset House 5K Run and Walk on Saturday.

The event was held at the Irondequoit United Church of Christ on Titus Avenue. Hundreds of runners took off on the wet roads, but many came prepared with rain jackets and umbrellas.

The 5K raised money for Sunset House, which provides end of life care for people and doesn’t charge families. The fundraiser helps keep the house running…
