Warmer temps for holiday weekend, storm chances increase late Saturday through Sunday morning

ST. LOUIS – After a cloudy and cool start to Saturday, temperatures will warm to near 80 degrees. Clouds will decrease a bit through the afternoon, although skies will still feature more clouds than sunshine. While a few stray showers or thundershowers can’t be ruled out this afternoon, much of the day will stay dry.

Rain chances increase later Saturday evening into Sunday morning as a weak cold front drops through the region. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are possible, though severe weather is not expected. As the front settles just south of the region, showers should move out by mid-morning Sunday, followed by gradually decreasing clouds. Highs Sunday will reach the low 80s.

For Monday, rain chances are expected to remain mainly south of the I-44 corridor. That should allow for a mostly dry Memorial Day with partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies and highs in the low 80s…
