Saturday night turned violent in west Charlotte when a person was shot and critically wounded on Fairwood Avenue, just off South Tryon Street. Emergency crews rushed the victim to a hospital with life‑threatening injuries, and officers kept the street sealed off into the early morning hours. According to WSOC‑TV, the shooting happened around 11 p.m. MEDIC confirmed that one person was transported with life‑threatening injuries.
