5 people displaced after fire caused by wood chips from a smoker in Loudon County

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. — Five people, four cats and two dogs were displaced in Loudon County after a fire caused by improper disposal of wood chips from a smoker.

On Saturday, May 23, around 11:30 a.m., Loudon County Fire and Rescue responded in the 17000 block of Tedler Circle in Round Hill, Virginia. Fire and rescue units from Purcellville, Hamilton, Philomont, Mount Weather, Leesburg, Clarke County, and command officers also responded to the scene.

When firefighters arrived on scene they found a two-story single-family home with fire coming from the front and sides of the structure. Fire crews quickly deployed hose lines to attack the fire and requested a Rapid Intervention Task Force to bring additional resources…
