LOWCOUNTRY, S.C. (WCIV) — In an effort to keep both the waterways and people safe during the Memorial Day holiday, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources will be conducting courtesy boat inspections at multiple landings in the Lowcountry.
According to officials, enforcement officers will be performing quick but thorough inspections on vessels, checking for the required safety equipment and proper boat and motor registrations.
Those who are found to be not in compliance with safety regulations or registration requirements will not be ticketed, instead they will be given the chance to correct the issue before launching their boat…
