NASCAR Throws Red Flag for Rain, Expected Restart Time for Coca-Cola 600

A bit of a bummer as the Coca-Cola 600 has 34 laps to go. With rain in the Charlotte area, NASCAR has thrown the yellow flag, followed by the red flag. There is hope that this race will finish in a timely manner tonight.

NASCAR put out the red flag with less than 35 laps to go in the race. Drivers and teams cannot work on the cars under a red flag on pit road. Hopefully, NASCAR doesn’t lose the track and it will be quickly dried off once possible.

It has been such an emotionally powerful day. Many race fans have been up early to watch the Greatest Day in Motorsports. NASCAR threw a yellow flag for lightning with less than 50 laps to go, however that was waived off only to be quickly followed by the rain.
