Fruitland Park man apprehended in theft of beer and ice from Walmart

A Fruitland Park man was apprehended for alleged theft of beer and ice from Walmart.

Officers arrived to Walmart, situated at 2501 Citrus Blvd., for a theft at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 15, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. During the initial call, they discovered that 55-year-old Jerry Bernard Easter had just left the business with a cart full of stolen products.

As he walked across the parking lot, loss prevention officers alerted law enforcement. He said he paid for everything but didn’t have a receipt. He was then led back to the loss prevention office to authenticate the items, according to the report…
