‘Draws us all together,’ Veterans continue to pay tribute to past and present service members through VFW events

OVERLAND, Mo. – Veterans at VFW Post 3944 in Overland say the organization is about far more than bingo nights, fish fries, and karaoke. For Army veteran David Larson, the post serves as a second family, and a place dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of those who served.

“When I first came home from Vietnam, I didn’t want to join anything because I thought all we were going to do was talk about war,” Larson said.
