Man ‘stomped’ by cow elk outside his front door in Estes Park

DENVER (KDVR) — A man was sent to the hospital after he was attacked by a cow elk just outside his front door in Estes Park over the weekend.

On Saturday, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said it responded to a call on Manford Avenue, near Lake Estes, for a conflict between an elk and a resident. A man was “stomped” by a cow elk after walking outside his front door.

The man was taken to the hospital, and his current condition is unknown.

CPW was able to interview the man, and an officer responded to find the elk. Both the cow elk and the calf had already moved to a secluded spot, and the officer placed aggressive elk signs by the apartment complex…
