Activities Dad Will Love This Father’s Day

Father’s Day is Sunday, which means I’ll be spending the next six days racking my brain trying to figure out what my Dad and husband, for that matter, will want to do on their special day.

On Mother’s Day, all I want is a break from laundry, screaming children, and the ever-present sink full of dishes. But dads are different; often, they want to do something fun outside with their family.

So let’s talk about fun activities to do with Dad this Sunday.

Fishing

I’m convinced all Dads love fishing. And we have some pretty sweet lakes to do that here in Northern Colorado. Growing up, our go-to fishing destination was definitely Horsetooth Reservoir in Fort Collins. For us, it was all about nature, and you definitely get that at Horsetooth with beautiful mountain views and crazy cook wildlife. This will most likely be our Father’s Day destination.

Hiking

I can’t stress that enough: get to the mountains as much as possible. While it isn’t in Northern Colorado, visiting Rocky Mountain National Park for a hike to Sky Pond. It’s a moderate hike, and you’ll see waterfalls, alpine lakes, and amazing views. Dad will love getting out in nature with family.

Brewery

Loveland has some pretty great breweries, and if your Dad is like my dad, he’ll love visiting to try some local flavor. Why not check out Loveland Aleworks? A locally owned and operated craft brewery with some of the best beer in town, Dad will love spending the day on a brewery patio…
