Back in 2009, over 100 people from Northern Colorado camped outside of the Fort Collins Chick-Fil-A at College and Horsetooth before its grand opening in hopes of winning a “Year’s Worth of Chick-Fil-A. Will they camp out in hopes of seeing “what’s new?”
How Long Will the College & Horsetooth Remodeling Closure Last?
It was on June 17, 2026, that the Chick-Fil-A on College Avenue posted that they’d be closing on June 25, 2026 for their remodel. They, however, did not mention how long they expected to be closed.
While the Timnath location will remain open, that location is fairly far away from College and Horsetooth; in addition, Raising Cane’s is also closed for remodel making things rough for tenders fans. Dave’s Hot Chicken is not remodeling, since they only opened in 2023.
What Are They Doing to the College/Horsetooth Chick-Fil-A?
It was in 2023 that The Coloradoan reported that that Chick-Fil-A had proposed improvements to the location, including:
- 105,000 square-foot expansion.
- Adding a second drive-thru lane.
- Adding a canopy.
If you know that Chick-Fil-A, the idea of adding a second drive-thru lane to the east seems problematic, as the Mail Creek Ditch is in the way. Maybe they’ll make a little bridge/drive-thru lane; maybe they’ll do some demolition to the building to make the new drive thru lane to the west of the existing one.
No Safeway Could Help with Chick-Fil-A Remodel Plan
