The upcoming school year is going to look a bit different in the Poudre School District of Northern Colorado later this year.

Poudre School District Cuts Staff Ahead of 2026-27 School Year

In February 2026, the Poudre School Board approved plans for a reduction in force by a unanimous vote. The vote came after an email was sent by Superintendent Brian Kingsley, describing that the funding will shrink by $8 million for the 2026-2027 school year.

According to 9News, the vote and the funding shrink will result in job cuts across the Northern Colorado school district. More than 100 licensed staff members were not renewed at the end of the 2025-2026 school year, and more than 70 classified staff were “staffed out” around the same time…
