Running a successful restaurant in Colorado means pouring your heart and soul into it, day after day. The owner of Blocky’s Eatery in Loveland did that for over a decade; sometimes you just have to say, “Enough is enough.”
Why Did Blocky’s in Loveland Close?
Blocky’s Eatery gained a great following after opening in 2012, where Lorenzo’s Italian Deli had been prior, in the Orchards Shopping Center; however, it seemed the owner grew more and more frustrated in operating the restaurant named after the nickname his grandfather had.
I know that in April of 2026, it really looked like Blocky’s would close, but the owner, Chris, rallied and got back to creating great pizzas and continued his determination to serve the community.
Blocky’s Exit Leaves a Great Location Open
I think that it’s hard to deny that the spot that Blocky’s had is a great one: easy to get to, with plenty of parking. I flash to how crazy things are across the way at McDonald’s: it gives me a headache just thinking about hitting them up for some McNuggets.
Another restaurant is sure to take over the place, since it’s already been at least two restaurants. Add in that there’s a great ice cream shop close by, Boozee Treats, it really makes for a great spot. The area could use a great spot to grab a steak dinner; it doesn’t seem likely, but I’d be in for that…
