Growing up in Colorado, like in any state, means riding your bike around town; it’s a “rite of passage.” However, kids can be rebellious; rebellious kids on their bikes have gotten Wellington’s Mayor upset enough to post her sentiments on Facebook, addressed to the parents of the town.
When I was growing up in Loveland, I had a bike, as we all did. That was 50 years ago, when the world was “smaller.” I can attest that my friends and I did not always ride as safely as we should have.
We saw some bumps and bruises, scraped knees, and chipped teeth, but (luckily) none of us were ever in a serious crash. If we had e-bikes back then, things could have turned out much differently.
