Dog dies after going missing in Fort Collins river

DENVER ( KDVR ) — On Thursday, Poudre Fire Authority responded to a call of a dog in a river.

Crews were sent to the area of Lee Martinez Park in Fort Collins just before 2 p.m., where a dog had gone missing somewhere along the river.

Photos provided by Poudre Fire show an iced-over Cache La Poudre River and crews in ice suits searching the river.

Poudre Fire did not say how the dog went missing or ended up in the river.

To help locate the pup, crews launched a drone. After 41 minutes of receiving the initial call, crews located the missing dog.
