Doing a Double Take: Second Doug’s Diner Coming to Loveland

Diners in Loveland may get confused once the new Doug’s Diner opens at 110 E 29th St #2724. The business shares the same name as an existing eatery in town, but they are not the same brand, Retro 102.5 explains .

The incoming Doug’s Diner is part of a Colorado franchise with multiple locations. It will be taking over the spot where Tilted Barrel once was; that business closed in May of last year.

The franchise, which also has locations in Centennial, Greeley, Thornton, Fort Collins, Windsor, Boulder, and Parker, has been in business for over a decade. The Loveland location will be run by Rick Bruening and Linda Hernandez.

The existing Doug’s Day Diner is an independent business that has served the community for many years. After news broke of the new Doug’s arrival, the business took to social media to clear up confusion and urge patrons to “keep supporting your LOCAL businesses” and expressed concern about “the big guys wanting to squeeze out the little guys.”
