For music lovers and outdoors enthusiasts alike, seeing a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado is a bucket list item. It’s unlike any other venue in the United States — or maybe even the world. The amphitheater was constructed in the midst of the natural rock formations that surround it, so when you’re seeing a concert at Red Rocks, you’re also having such a unique experience in nature, and the view from the stands is absolutely incredible, even beyond the stage. It’s easy to see why so many people want to see a show here!

But unfortunately, it’s still a concert venue, and that means that not everybody is treating it with as much respect as they should. In fact, it’s pretty horrifying to hear the level of trash that’s been left behind — it actually requires the help of volunteers to get rid of it all.

On Friday, February 9, the Today show’s official TikTok account shared a pretty alarming report about the landmark. According to a nonprofit group called Friends of Red Rocks that gathers to help clean up the amphitheater monthly, a whopping 50 pounds of gum was found and removed from the venue last year.
